Salaar Box Office Collection on Day 2: Prabhas’ Latest Film Nearing Rs 150 Crore Mark in India
On its second day, Prabhas-starrer ‘Salaar: Part One – Ceasefire’ continues its impressive run at the Indian box office, inching closer to the coveted Rs 150 crore mark. After a stellar opening day, where the movie raked in Rs 90.70 crore, Saturday’s collections are estimated to be around Rs 55 crore. As a result, the film is anticipated to have reached approximately Rs 145.70 crore, edging towards the Rs 150 crore milestone, according to the film trade portal Sacnilk.
The commercial action-packed venture led by Prabhas is also eyeing the Rs 200 crore mark in India. ‘Salaar’ has claimed the title of the biggest opener of 2023, surpassing the likes of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan,’ ‘Jawan,’ and the recently released ‘Dunki.’
Comparing the opening day figures, ‘Salaar’ earned Rs 90.70 crore, while ‘Pathaan’ made Rs 57 crore, ‘Jawan’ secured Rs 75 crore, and ‘Dunki’ accumulated a total of Rs 29.20 crore on its opening day. ‘Salaar’ has not only outperformed these releases but has also exceeded the initial collections of ‘Adipurush,’ ‘Leo,’ and ‘Animal.’ ‘Adipurush’ earned Rs 86.75 crore on its opening day, ‘Leo’ made Rs 64.80 crore, and ‘Animal’ raked in Rs 63.80 crore.
Additionally, on Saturday, ‘Salaar’ sold an impressive total of 18.93 lakh tickets across national multiplex chains from 12,959 shows. Notably, the film sold 1.80 lakh tickets worth Rs 6.82 crore across PVR chains, 1.30 lakh tickets worth Rs 4.50 crore across Inox chains, and a total of 70,088 tickets worth Rs 2.61 crore across Cinepolis chains, as reported by film trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan.
Internationally, the movie has made a significant impact, grossing $4.72 million at the North American box office and is poised to surpass the $5 million mark soon. The news was confirmed by movie distributor Prathyangira Cinemas on their social media handle, celebrating the success with hashtags such as #BlockbusterSalaar and #RecordBreakingSalaar.
Fans and critics alike have showered ‘Salaar’ with overwhelmingly positive reviews. Praise has been directed towards Prabhas’ exceptional performance and director Prashanth Neel’s visionary approach. India Today gave the film a three-and-a-half star rating, stating in its review, “Prabhas is a man of few words in the film and has a past that he doesn’t know. Throughout the film, he gets hyped by every single character, and he truly lives up to it. And we do not get bored with it!”
Directed by Prashanth Neel, ‘Salaar’ is set in the fictional city of Khansaar, focusing on two friends, Deva and Vardha, who evolve into rivals.
